Lynyrd Skynyrd's Free Bird Tank

Make a statement with Lyric Culture's song lyrics tees and tanks. This 'Free Bird' faux suede tank is inspired by Lynyrd Skynyrd's song Free Bird. The song was originally released in 1973 and is on Rolling Stone's 500 greatest songs of all time. I gave the tank a desert-wanderer look by styling a wide fedora hat, cut off shorts, and booties; as I was on an adventure in Palm Springs with Renee when we shot this, so the setting (and weather) was quite fitting. As the lyrics evoke a sense of departure, spreading ones wings and and being free because sometimes you just can't help being who you are or having the deepest desire to travel and be consumed with wanderlust.

If I leave here tomorrow
Would you still remember me?
For I must be travelling on, now,
cause there's too many places Ive got to see.
But, if I stayed here with you, girl,
Things just couldn't be the same.
cause I'm as free as a bird now,
And this bird you can not change.
Lord knows, I cant change.

Ingleside Inn, Palm Springs

For my actual birthday weekend, yes I know I've been celebrating for the last month or so, Scott and I stayed at the Ingleside Inn in Palm Springs for an evening. Located in the heart of Downtown Palm Springs, the Ingleside Inn has decades of exciting history, with its hay day during the Golden Age of Hollywood. It is quite the quiet and relaxing place to stay in the desert; the boutique hotel has beautiful 1920s Spanish-style architecture and features 30 rooms and 2-acres of former private estate offering luxury lodging and suite accommodations.
Check in was easy and I received an actual key for our standard queen bed room. We self parked at the back of the hotel to access our room. We had a nice mountain view from our window and shared balcony. The bedroom was filled with dated wicker furniture (including a wicker canopy bed frame) and tropical bedspreads, but it gave personality to the room. We were greeted with a fruit, cheese and cracker plate and the mini fridge included many beverages (all apart of the resort fee). The Spanish theme was carried out in the bathroom with the tile work and sink.
The pool was the perfect place to lounge and a staff member would come around ever so often to collect used towels, but other than that, the guests were left to their own devices. There was a bit of foliage surrounding the pool and spa area which in turn left a lot of leaves in the water (which would have been more visually appealing if there was more upkeep), nevertheless, I still had a nice and relaxing time at the pool.
We were right around the corner from the exit of the bar area of  the hotel's dining, Melvyn's Restaurant. I thought the sound from the bar might carry into our room, but our space was very well insulated. Scott treated me to a champagne dinner at Melvyn's Restaurant which not only tasted quality, but was reasonably priced. I'll share our restuarant experience in another post. Definitely check out Ingleside Inn if you're looking for a quieter and more personal, boutique hotel experience.

Flynn Sky's Amber Dress in the Desert

While on my Arizona retreat with Renee, I hadn't packed enough so she let me wear this beautiful Flynn Skye dress. I love how airy it is, and the print popped nicely against the desert backdrop. This billowy shaped dress can easily be worn with booties or heels for a dressier look, or with sandals for poolside lounging, casual look. Belt the dress to create more shape, or add a leather jacket for an edgier boho look. Shot by Renee Rogers, and check out our video here.
